Ladybird Entertainment was created by Sandie McArdell a Western Australian artist and performer, specialising in children’s entertainment. Sandie has a degree in Visual Arts and performance and more than 10 years experience working with and entertaining children as a professional fairy.
It all began when she was small, but old enough to teach. She run her little backyard school for her younger siblings and the neighbourhood kids. Sandie was always designing new games and activities to try as well as creating costumes and putting together shows for the neighbourhood mums and dads. Often she was asked to entertain and help set up children’s parties. So when she was asked to be the Birthday Party, Fairy Queen at the Pickled Fairy And Other Myths in Fremantle, she was delighted.
The Pickled Fairy will always be a special place for Fairy Sandie because that was where she first discovered the magic of being a real fairy. You can still catch a glimpse of her on a Thursday morning if you are lucky.
 It was also in this time when Fairy Sandie became a mother herself and birthday celebrations seemed even more special. Friends and family began to invite her to entertain at their children’s parties, and their friends and family too invited her to their parties.
Once a school or two caught wind of Sandie’s Magical Parties and the magic she shared, there were even more party invitations.
Then there came festival invitations and stage shows had to be designed and the magic just kept on growing and growing.
What once was known as Sandie’s Magical Parties has now become Ladybird Entertainment, which consists of a beautiful team of fairies and other magical characters ready to share the fun with you.
You may have seen her flitting party to party in your neighbourhood! She has performed at numerous schools, kindies and day care centres and you may have seen her on stage with her Tail Wagin Dragon at a number of Perth Festivals.
Highlights include include Stage shows at the City of Perth’s Annual Christmas Pageant and Kings Park Annual Flower Festival. In 2008 she spread her wings to fly as far as Dubai to share her magic at the “World of Stories” event, held in June.
With her love for people, especially children, she plans to keep sharing the magic far and wide. |
